Head of Data Technologies Department

"PAŞA Sığorta" ASC invites candidates to apply for the position of Head of Data Technologies Department to become a member of a professional team. Main Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Aligning the management of platforms with the organization's goals through overview, strategy, and roadmap. Evaluating and exploring the application possibilities of new technologies (cloud-native data platforms, orchestration, MLOps, real-time data streaming). Ensuring standardization, best practices, and governance in RDBMS, DataOps, and MLOps functions. Team and People Management Managing and developing a multidisciplinary team consisting of DBAs, DataOps engineers, platform engineers, and MLOps specialists. Strengthening collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders (Data Science, Analytics, Information Security, Business units). Creating opportunities for career development for team members and ensuring continuous skill enhancement. Platform and Infrastructure Management Ensuring the performance, resilience, recovery, and compliance of traditional databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL). Managing, optimizing, and ensuring the efficiency of modern data ecosystem components (MinIO, Trino, Iceberg, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Dataiku). Establishing frameworks for scalability, monitoring, automation, and cost management of platforms. Integrating platforms with other enterprise systems and security frameworks. Operations Improvement Identifying and ensuring the execution of SLA, SLO, and KPI for platform reliability and data accessibility. Implementing proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes. Conducting capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost management. Increasing automation in provisioning, deployment, and maintenance processes. Implementation of MLOps and DataOps Strengthening collaboration between Data Science and IT teams to ensure the transition of ML models to production environments. Establishing model versioning, CI/CD pipeline, reproducibility, and monitoring processes. Accelerating data flows and reducing the time to generate analytic value by applying DataOps approaches. Management, Security, and Compliance Ensuring compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements. Implementing access control, encryption, and auditing frameworks in collaboration with Information Security. Establishing governance processes to track data quality, lineage, and lifecycle. Education and Qualification Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields. Certifications Optional Knowledge and Skills Deep knowledge of database administration (MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and modern big data ecosystems. Experience in orchestration (Airflow), distributed systems (Spark, Kafka), and data storage (Iceberg, MinIO). Work experience with MLOps tools (Dataiku, MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar). Proven experience in building and scaling technical teams. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
