Responsibilities include Data Governance leadership, developing and implementing Data Governance strategy and roadmap across the enterprise, defining data policies, standards, and procedures, establishing data ownership and accountability models, managing Data Governance Council or similar governance mechanisms, overseeing Data Stewardship, defining Data Stewardship model and role allocation, providing guidance and methodological support to Business Data Stewards, assigning responsibilities for key data objects (master/critical data), escalating and coordinating solutions for data quality issues, establishing Data Quality framework (metrics, KPIs, control mechanisms), ensuring data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timely availability, ensuring reliable data usage for critical business processes, compliance and risk management ensuring compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, collaborating with Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal teams, providing a data management framework for audit and regulatory inquiries, promoting a data governance culture within business units, implementing processes that support data-driven decision-making, harmonizing data standards with Data Engineering and Analytics teams, and acting as a key coordinator in data-related initiatives.
